Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of Greenfield Airport at Holongi worth of Rs. 955 crore and inaugurated an upgraded and retrofitted airport at Tezu in Lohit district at a worth of Rs. 125 crore through remote control at a function at Indira Gandhi Park.
Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Sela Tunnel in #Arunachal Pradesh. It will provide – all weather connectivity to the Tawang Valley for civilians as well as security forces.This tunnel if implemented will reduce the travel time to Tawang by an hour and boost tourism and related economic activities in the region.The Sela pass tunnel will be constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
The central government emphasized that the tunnel will ensure quick movement of army troops in Tawang district which is a strategically-located near the China border.
In a speech, Modi said that his government is putting a lot of effort to improve the connectivity in this state , which include the railways, airways, highways and power stations in Arunachal Pradesh, which was/were neglected by the previous Government.
Modi also inaugurated a new Doordarshan 24-hrs channel named DD Arun Prabha channel, it will be a 24th channel operated by Doordarshan.He also dedicated to the nation the 110-MW Pare Hydroelectricity plant, this project constructed by the NEEPCO will harness hydro power potential of the river Dikrong (tributary of Brahmaputra ) and provide cheap power to the northeastern states.There by improving power availability in the region.

Why China Opposed?
China claims Arunachal Pradesh as his part of tibet also called as "South Tibet" and always condemns the visit of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's in India.
The Chinese Media always raising it's voices against India whenever such visits happens.
