Welcome readers to your reading destination Newsringer, every news matters. So after KARTARPUR CORRIDOR, There is going to be a 2nd corridor between India and Pakistan named as Sharada Peeth Corridor. This off course will increase the density of religion and tourism between both countries. We will discuss why this is important, How this is going to benefit both the countries, so lets get started…

How it is started?

The Pakistan government approved a proposal to establish a corridor that will allow Hindu pilgrims from India to visit Sharada Peeth, an ancient Hindu temple and cultural site in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. There may be a possibility of MOU to be sign between the countries in the near future, then only the construction will start. This helps Indians to visit there. This will not be as easy as it sounds. If we talk about Kartarpur Corridor, it is divided by an international border, and there will be no visa thing for them but in Sharada Peeth corridor, there are some issues like what will be the language used while signing and many more. At first we will discuss about KARTARPUR CORRIDOR, that will make you understand better about the upcoming Sharada Peeth corridor.

KARTARPUR CORRIDOR

SHARADA PEETH CORRIDOR
Kartarpur Corridor
A proposed border corridor between the neighboring nations of India and Pakistan, connecting the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib (located in Punjab, India) and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur (in Punjab, Pakistan). These two pilgrims will be connected that help the devotees to visit both the places without visa. This is not proposed in 2019 only, but in early 1999 by the prime ministers of Pakistan and India, Nawaz Sharif and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, respectively, as part of the Delhi-Lahore Bus diplomacy. This has taken approx 20 years to be seen in the soil. Now back to our topic…

SHARADA PEETH CORRIDOR

Sharada Peeth, a shrine for the Kashmiri Pandits in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Sharda Peeth, an abandoned temple close to the Line of control(LoC), sits in PoK’s Sharda village in the Neelum Valley (at a distance of around 140km from Muzaffarabad and 30km from kupwara) and has been out of bounds for Indian pilgrims since Partition.

Now the location of this temple is very much awkward bcoz it is in PoK. We all can observe it in the map. Indian devotees will visit there and get blessing. Sharda Peeth (Hindu Goddess Saraswati) was once regarded as a major centre of higher learning of Vedic works, scriptures and commentaries. Sharda Peeth, one of the 18 highly revered temples across South Asia, was one at par with the ancient seats of learning at Nalanda and Takshila.

HISTORY OF SHARDA PEETH

Established in 237 BC during the reign of Ashoka, the 5,000-year-old Sharda Peeth is an abandoned temple and ancient centre of learning dedicated to the Hindu goddess of learning. Between the 6th and 12th centuring CE, Sharda Peeth was one of the foremost temple universities of the Indian subcontinent.

WHY SHARDA PEETH CORRIDOR ANNOUNCED NOW?

At a time when the Imran Khan government has come under fire over the purported persecution of Hindus and other minorities, Pakistan gave its nod for the opening of Sharda Peeth Corridor which will pave way for Hindus to offer prayers at a temple located in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). It is much more important for Pakistan to increase its tourism, as we all know its condition is very much scarce and becoming more worse day by day.

OUR VIEWS:

According to the data:
Pakistan’s tourism industry, currently estimated at $22 billion. and sharp contrast, India’s tourism industry is worth $ 234 billion. Pakistan is seriously in its worst days, they don’t have enough revenue generation. Indian, Japanese, Chinese, tourist are very much important for them.
Now Pakistan is aiming to get its revenue to $30 billion and India targets to $250 billion. Hope Both countries will grow in the future.
