INDIA Shoots Down a LIVE SATELLITE
India shoots down a live satellite |
INDIA shoots
down a live satellite on 27 march 2019 in the name of Shakti Mission. India
destroyed its own live satellite for demonstration to show its power in space,
by an anti-satellite missile (A-SAT) from Dr. Abdul Kalam Island of Orissa
Coast, all thanks to Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO). Please write Thankyou DRDO in the comments section below. By completing
this India becomes the 4th country to be capable of destroying a
satellite, after USA, Russia and China.
PM Modi Tweets Mission Shakti |
The news is
so huge that even P.M. Narendra Modi, himself greeted the people of India with
his tweet. P.M. tweets: “ #MissionShakti is special for 2 reasons:
(1) India is only the 4th country to acquire such a specialized & modern capability
(2) Entire effort is indigenous.
India stands tall as a space power!
It will make India stronger, even more secure and will further peace and harmony ”.
Most
Important point is that No other country helped India in developing such
technology and its fully indigenously built in India.
AN ACHIEVEMENT:
NASA OVERVIEW OF SPACE |
This is a
photo generated by #NASA which shows the number of satellites in space and huge
amount of debris moving around. NASA graphic of the space objects field (include
satellite & debris) totally 7,40,000. Among these, India has to destroy a
single specific satellite of its own traveling at 29,000 km/ hour in lower
space. As Earth and satellite both are moving at a different speed that makes more
difficult for India to shoot down a specific satellite, but India did it.
WHY PM TWEETED?
First of all
, the decision of this mission is taken by high command authorities (including
PM). the mission was going to be performed by India 1st time in its
history, that’s why there was huge risk. There could be possibility or a sudden
miscalculation that might be by inches/seconds, could change direction of the
whole mission. This miscalculations could harm the image of India in the
geopolitics. Instead Indian government has taken the risk and fully
depended on DRDO.
PM Tweets |
PM also tweeted about the mission shakti which states: "#MissionShakti was a highly complex one, conducted at extremely high speed with remarkable precision. It shows the remarkable dexterity of India's outstanding scientists and the success of our space programme".
INDIA’S TEST 2019
PM MODI Announcing Mission Shakti |
Neither P.M.
Modi nor DRDO ministers identified the satellite targeted during the test.
Indian media speculated that the likely targets were either Microsat-R launched
in January or Microsat-TD, launched a year earlier, which were not useful for
the future.
WHY NOT IN PREVIOUS YEARS?
On February
10, 2010, Defence Research & Development Organization Director-General
& Scientific Advisor to the Defence Ministry, Dr. V. K. Saraswat that India
had “all the building blocks necessary” to integrate an anti-satellite weapon
to neutralize hostile satellites in low earth and polar orbits.
CHINA’S ATTEMPT & CRITICISM
On Jan 11
2007 China conducted an anti-satellite missile test. Several nations responded
negatively to the test and highlighted the serious consequences of engaging in
the militarization of space. Chines Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao
stated, “There’s no need to feel threatened about this” and argued that “China
will not participate in any kind of arms race in outer space”. China is criticized
by all western countries including USA, UK, France, etc.
After One
year of this event USA tested OPERATION BURNT FROST , where it destroy a
non-functioning U.S. National Reconnaissance Office(NRO) satellite named USA-193.
PREVIOUS TESTS BY U.S.A. AND RUSSIA
The United
Sates performed the first anti-satellite tests in 1959. The Soviet Union
performed similar tests around the same time. In the 1960s and early 1970s, it
tested a weapon that could be launched in orbit, approach enemy satellites and
destroy them with an explosive charge.
WORLD’S REACTION TODAY:
CHINA:
Reacted guardedly to India’s anti-satellite missile test and expressed hope
that all countries will uphold peace and tranquility in the outer space.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry, in a written response to a
question from PTI on India successfully test-firing an anti-satellite missile,
said: “We have noticed reports and hope that each country will uphold peace and
tranquility in outer space”.
PAKISTAN:
Pakistan issued a call against military threats in outer space.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry said in a statement: “Space is
the common heritage of mankind and every nation has the responsibility to avoid
actions which can lead to the militarization of this arena, We hope that
countries which have in the past strongly condemned demonstration of similar
capabilities by others will be prepared to work towards developing
international instruments to prevent military threats relating to outer space,”
without mentioning India by name.
OUR VIEWS:
India Enter in the League of Elite Space Power |
Newsringer
congratulates India for completion of its #Mission Shakti and joins the Elite
Space Club . India also took the strong decision to postpone the mission in
2010, as it was not geopolitically strong enough to face the criticism of the world,
that even china could not escaped from. Now as India has grown worldwide and it’s
geopolitical cloud is much larger in the last decade. As a result none of the
countries stood against India about its mission except Pakistan, that is
negligible. All the could possible with the help of our DRDO scientists.
